A hat named Coleen!!!! Nw wats the matter with google, has she gone crazier than she already is ;-D…
I learnt abt hat making whn I watched the hats made for one of the worlds favorite annual socializing event, which, had hat makers working for 2 weeks 24/7, with their role including naming their respective creationsJ…Coleen interesting huh!... n attire makers especially the 3 piece precise khandani specified suit makers who have been designing for centuries, [they have been designing them from the 16th century!]Well! Isn't tat suppppper exciting! [do pardon my desi hinglish!!]
The khandan here happens to be our fav royals- the residents of the Buckingham palace [hehehe] n the event is the Royal Ascot [a yearly horse racing extravaganza wch my bro n mom hav been following diligently frm the day it started off…though, I could watch it only on Saturday, am I glad…
The evnt is symbolic, symbolic of not just the fine balance between man n horse, but, also symbolic of fashion, society and networking among the bluest of blood [am rolling my eyes nw], its also symbolic of tat very well spoken language rolled soooooo precisely by the English themselves….hmmm, it was one show I thoroughly enjoyed, horses, as most of u knw are my fav animals, their sensitivity, their speed, their majesty hav me bowled over…the excitement of the commentators, the green surrounding the animal in all its glory n the man [the jockey] enslaved to his horse, he maintains his weight, sits in a v uncomfortable position n definitely rides it like he should b as light as a feather…my dad is a movie freak, he can watch ny n every movie released, n most often his fav entertainment is making stories by combining the scripts of many movies [in one of our msk classes we had a similar game, n it was thoroughly entertaining] n he thinks my luv 4 horses is mainly coz my parents watched the black stallion whn I was happily sleeping in mas womb [ its again one of his fav stories
J cant say if I can bliv it nw]
Every time I wud give up, everytime I wud complain he wud tell me to think of the horse n the whip, he wud say tat the situations tat I was into, were like the whip n the way I wud find solutions to it wud b like the horse winning among its own breed n finishing among equals..tats som analogy, but it definitely works for me, speed thrills…hehehe
Hav been catching up on a coupla movies, watched bheja fry, a clever well scripted situational comedy, a small budget movie with a simple story, yet v crisp n entertaining, ur bheja will definitely bcom dheela [translation: ur spirits will b set free] bt, I must admit I cudnt stop admiring sarika in the little role tat she played [wish the whole kamalhasan bit cudve been rewinded, we missed a gud actress 4 somtime]
The other movie was a kannada one called 'mungaaru male' beautiful cinematography n simply melodious music, it has actors who look like u n me, v ordinary ppl, the story too is simple, but, the depth of the script n the power of the movie is in its dialogues, I have cried watching som bits of the movie, hwvr, its not a depressing movie, its bcom a record blockbuster, whoever heard of kannada blockbusters ;)
n the weekend saw me doin the evening pooja aftr som spell of time, it has been my assigned duty frm childhood, bt as I grew up n wasn't at hom everyday in the evenings, this bcame my responsibility whnevr I ws at home, n as I sat n prayed I almost felt meditative, the power of ones thoughts n beliefs is in itself a blessing, the heightened sense of belongingness n acceptance always humbles me…the whole idea or concept of a god or religion is something I don't bliv completely in, bt the ways n means of worship, the hymns we sing, the posture v adopt, the concentration n focus tat v have while worshipping, the presence of incense n flowers n most importantly the lamps v light adds hope, joy n meaning…
Well! Writing abt it is in itself like a healing… work also is happening, but, hav decided to shoulder som responsibility in the kitchen, especially, on weekends. I made a simple sweet, wud like to share the recipe… heregoes, its called seven cups, as a rule:use the same bowl for measurement.
Use a dish into which u put a bowl of ghee, n as it warms add a bowl of besan/chickpea using the same bowl as measure, stir it continuously[or else ur sweet'z gonaa b lumpy], soo pour the besan slowly stirring it simultaneously, then pour a bowl of milk, n add 3 bowls of sugar to this mixture, stir it continuously n finally add a bowl of coconut, the trick is to use the same measure for all the 7 times, 1 ghee,1besan,1 milk, 3 sugar, n finally the coconut…then pour this mixture aftr it reaches a semisolid consistency to a larger serving dish which is coated with ghee, spread the mixture n cut it immediately into even shaped pieces just aftr spreading it! Voila, the seven cups is ready to serve..its really yummmm
Heres wishing u a v sweet week…nxt time around I shall write abt visioning wch I spoke of n relate it to vachanas n quotes, for all who r not in blore, its simply super weather with the winds blowing at super speed n rain catching up, hwvr, not completely the best of season's as the colds n fevers r in the air…

17-6-07 Oye!! exhaustive
am going nucking futs!!!!!! ;)
Well! That's exactly how I felt when I ventured towards 'value lanes' an outbound training centre, on the outskirts of Bangalore… this happened in the last minute[my boss permitted to attend it only in mid morning, n I had to call up home to send a change of clothes..things happenin to me in the last min is a little annoying :)]… thoughts flooded my head in multiple directions, the work I mailed home to complete over the weekend, the new week of learning through a classroom set up by joinng in on the BA bootcamp to attend sessions on practices that we are into, missing another weekend of staying at home…this weekend i had planned to watch beauty n the beast [the animated version of it] n attend a family lunch on Sunday at my uncles place :)
But, as I sat in the bus which went on some of the worst roads that Bangalore could've had, I wondered what I was doing in a group of 55 others who were relatively familiar with each other..
I had to break the ice with most of them and get to know thm plus participate in rigorous activites which would need all my senses in acute concentration…but, as we got off the bus at the venue after about 40 mins of tat bumpy ride, I just smiled n could feel the 55 others smiling back at me J…the place felt like heaven on earth, a small pocket of civilization surrounded by mountains, a river n forestry…with spartan tents which had comfortable cots and cupboards too[it was like the coexistence of both luxury n simplicity together] dichotomy as usual…we had a small briefing on our neighbours in the surrounding forests, the boars and bears whom we were told not to disturb :-D n the first activity was playing a volleyball match, with the ball missing…. more of a know ur neighbour sort of game
J… where we had to pass the ball calling the name of someone within the team first, followed by the name of sm1 in the other team[it worked wonders n I cud remember most of my team n the opposite team as well!]
No brk aftr that, close to 7 in the evening, n it literally felt as 'dark as night' n we were divided into groups of 9 n were made to complete the task of carrying a bucket of water across 3 modules without actually setting foot on the ground or spilling the water, n bliv me despite being a young group of ppl at an avg age of 32, n having been thru these programs some point b4 in life, we cud only manage to complete 1 module mch byond the stipulated time:-L this was followed by dinner n barbecue n some djing which we all enjoyed despite, that stretched physical exertion… ppl who claimed to hav no appetites almost ravaged the kitchen J n everybody was thankful for the delicious food. The dinner stretched till 12 but we all had to end singing n chatting abruptly, as we had to wake up the next morn n b ready to face the day by 5AM.
What do we see, at that early hour, another simulated event where our clients are from Dubai n hiring for an entertainment co… men n women who could perform 11 hurdles, n thy felt that the hurdles should be based on our Indian army's mode of selection n we couldn't negotiate the time but finish all the hurdles within or by 15 mins.
The teams were again groups of 9, n all of us had to finish tasks to earn 675 dollars after wch, if time permitted, we cud repeat some of the hurdles n earn further money… n based on our earnings we would win the contract…hmmm, strategy, finance, n physical exercise…whattte combi ;) n all this as the sun rose in the horizon.. n our stomachs grumbling for food!
My team had 2 women n we were given a lot of consideration during the planning stage, I was xcited abt doing the Burmese bridge as it reminded me of the accident I had as a guide of falling from a height, n I wanted to finish it inorder to rest som of my fears!
My team started calling me the Burmese bridge beauty;) [hehehe] well, all these hurdles seemed v exciting, but were extremely difficult to do, except for 4 of the hurdles, balancing loop, the pole vault, the water logged dividers, the hangin tyre… the tough ones whr the 10ft wall, the bridges, the fishing net, the tarzan swing, n the W wall.
Until we crossed $675, all of the teams had to finish each of the hurdle, we all finished the easier ones, n I felt like I was eternally struck in the fishing net[ this is just a net which you have to climb, n then on descend om the other side, it was the most time consuming… the 10feet wall I finished comfortably as I was used to it through my experience in guides, but, by the time I reached w wall I was exhausted …only 10 mins had passed, I had completed most of the activities except the Burmese bridge n the tarzan swing n was stuck at W wall [the hurdle with highest points] n most of my team had completed it [my team had many from defense families n it was our advantage;)] in order to help me finish this hurdle, 2 guys in my team, one on the wall n the other as a camel under, I put my feet on this guy n the guy on the wall pulled me up n I jumped across, well! Completing this hurdle felt like victory itself…I ended up not fulfilling 2 of the hurdles in the stipulated 14 mins, but ended up repeating 2 of the easier hurdles again J in the end we stood 3rd among the competing 6 teams, it was close yet fun competing, I was astonished abt hw mch we could stretch if only we blived in doing things
:)
Breakfast was timed to 20 minutes, after wch we had to trek on a mountain which was simply had the most beautiful view that I have seen in recent times… [it reminded me of a trek I had been to in engg to chikamangalur]…the trek back was made difficult by blinding a few of us n muting the rest of thm, this was a v difficult trek, but, it made us realize that our senses bcom acute when we accept a deformity, I was blinded, but, I walked in small steps n completely trusted the chain I belonged to, we were resting each others hands on the shoulders of ppl in front of us, n went wherever thy went, n whn we looked at pics after the trek we found out tat we were almost at the edge many times, this was quite a learning experience, the amount of bonding tat happened aftr this event was simply superb!
This was followed by a quick lunch, n we had to go for a rappling activity, this was exhilarating!!!... The rules are simple, as we descend we should look upto the sky, be at 90degrees to the surface, n balance our weight on the hook with support from one arm behind us n the other infront of us, the most important thing is to not bend one's knees. Well! this was one exercise that made us shed our inhibitions, it was exhaustive but hilarious in its own way, the closer we reached the surface of the earth, the more we wanted to rapple, the height of this surface was abt 60ft n everytime we would reach close to the surface the rest who were thr b4 us wud crack some silly joke n we would smile with a sense of achievement! Indeed an experience I would recommend to all of you J[take me along n mayb u wudnt b as scared..hehehe]
The final n the last activity was at the river, we were working under the same co but as groups representing different locations, we had to design a raft which would be low cost n at the same time efficient n sturdy, enough to hold abt 7 ppl even in a flood!
The best part is we were given the resources which comprised of inflated tyres, ropes, n bamboos of different sizes n had to actually implement the design n test it in the river, all this again had distributed time limits, n this one activity we all took head on n all the teams completed it with loads of fun n enthu :)
We made slogans n songs to maintain the rhythm during rowing n it was a wonderful experience which helped us relive n relax after the whole days exertions… wanted to stay in the water forever, but home beckoned, another bumpy ride awaited, but this time around had established an acquaintance with almost 30 of them, as each activity would've us belonging to different groups n each interaction helped me understand varied interests, varied behavior patterns, n different hues of a personality that adds immense meaning to the canvas of life…
The initial sckeptism n complaining attitude was replaced by a 'spirit to discover more' to be able to connect more with everybody n understand the essence of life itself…the bones n every muscle in me is hurting but, the pain is welcome n it adds to my existence :)
This week was heavy with learning…have to also write to u all about my mentor n buddy Sanjay who happens to be the head of my division n the way he facilitated a visioning session through a video by a 'futurologist' into different modules n helps put forward a topic wch can b controversial, as visioning cannot be exactly taught!!
More on this in my nxt mail, u hav something 2 luk fwd to… n promise tat it will b another long mail :)

the week (12-6-07)
lifes as good as ever, thr are momentary crests and troughs but if it wouldnt b for tat wave... life wudnt be as interesting:)conducted a couple of games for my team and my team had loads of fun, we are in the midst of restructuring as a team and the bonding exercise was a necessity :)... spend most of my waking hrs doing things related to wrk, the best part abt it is the joy I feel in doing it...continous support and mentoring by my mngr and head has helped me convert the enthu into focus...amidst this i take some coffee brks with company who add learning n meaning to my life, shaval the trainee working with me will leave tomorrow, his acknowledgement of my support made me feel like i was in cloud nine :) its always a high whn ur wrk gets recognised :)the weekend saw me settingoff to a resort in shrirangapatna, accompanying summer interns on a picnic, this resort is on the banks of river cauvery, and just sitting on its banks brought a sense of peace and calm to the environs, it was an avg resort whn it comes to food and facilities, however, the company was delightful, young, enthusiastic, intelligent people who could speak abt everything under the sun, i finally understood the difference btwn pool, billiards and snooker [although, rudimentarily :)] also got to play a few games wch made me nostalgic of college, thr was also a firang intern from Yale who taught me many things, she had lived in africa just to connect with humanity, and tat bit impressed me, i hav always felt tat we as a race are interested in many things but, do not pursue them as passionately as our western counterparts....sunday was a lazy day with sleep n godfather occupying my mind and time, also spent time with a wonderful friend who always reminds me of the hope that exists in the world, one of my pillars of strength and who actually thinks am intelli ;)on this happy note one week follows the other, n life goes on with its lessons and learnings
2-6-2007 Chennai and more
Last weekend saw me in Chennai, as blistering as ever! It continues to be one of those places which helps me connect with my spiritual self, temples at every corner leading to names of streets being referred to as XYZ koil street, koil being temple…and with the temples is the neverending sea which gives me a sense of calm and detachment…
The Chennai branch of Mindtree is much smaller, however, the infrastructure is simply amazing... n what impressed me most were the people, by people, I mean the interview panel which comprised of men n women high on energy n passionate about their work, …everything abt this short trip was well planned, the food simply rocked[ typical south Indian cuisine], opportunity to meet my uncle n aunt who are waiting to talk to nybody who could converse in Kannada, our mother tongue, n watching a very real, pleasant, movie, unnale unnale and finally the hospitality of jet airways whn thy accommodated us on available flights whn the destined flight couldn't be scheduled due to the weather.
I learnt many things on this trip, especially to notice the minor but significant change in the quality of candidates.I may sound biased, however, the quality of CVs at Chennai were much better… in terms of volumes, Bangalore is still way ahead, but, real conversions and offers are much lower. I learnt a trick or two about event management too, cause I had to act as the financer for the team and distributing a decent sum as against an expense account ws in itself a learning. Whenever I am given such responsibilities, I look back at that 'child' that I was only a few months ago [child is wot my brother calls me to annoy me] I couldn't handle my pocket money properly, and, now I carry cash to take care of a team of 30 people.
When I returned, I felt like the energy followed me, I am doing some interesting things, only when they are finished or are part of the deliverables will I talk abt them, but this allows me to interact with the media folks, creative designers, marketing and communication division etc, who widen my perspective…every other day I am getting appreciation for the wrk tat I do, my boss Sanjay even called me Supergirl
J..at times, it scares me, frm day one I feel that there is a building expectation, will I be able to deliver? Am I doin enough, can I do some more?
Apart frm these occupational hazards J I must add that there was a mango festival held at "rangashankara" wch my mother attended 2 weeks ago, celebrating fruits n specifically the king of fruits is indeed a yummy idea, I think rangashankara is the ultimate tribute to not just Shankar nag but to everything related to our art n culture, n food n fruits ;) r an integral part of it…some of u hav been fortunate to eat the mangoes grwn in our orchard in Tiptur, the rest are welcome every season, infact I am planning to write a compilation of stories of my childhood experiences, marsh my dear editor approves…watch this space for all those masti n mischevious stories of ur friend wch u maynt hav hrd frm her yet!!!
2moro cs me wrking on yet another Sunday, hmmm..more learning :)
celebrate life today n always!!!

Olympian to a stock analyst autowallah :) (19-5-2007)
Rubin Machivella, was one of the torchbearers at the Barcelona olympics, and I had the privilege to dine with him last night and also understand his fascination and admiration of India, he has been here thrice in two years and wants to come back, he loves to dance like most of his countrymen :) bt didnt enjoy our spicy preparations of food n ate pasta mornning, noon n night!
well! wot is the spanish connection u may ask?
I hosted an Indo Spanish collaboration in the manufacturin and Hardware sector, the fulcrum of the evening was a 'political tamasha' to promote India and in particular Karnataka. I thoroughly enjoyed being part of the program as I was the anchor/MC of the evening. It was an experience in itself, as I could draw familiar patterns between our family owned businesses n the Spanish ones n identical patterns among our netalog despite their party differences :).
Most of the delegates present were inter related and invested in each others business, it was indeed a mirror to our v own marwadi n gujju communities and their business shrewdness/network.
Half the cabinet was present at Le Meridien [ wch happens to b owned by our erstwhile CM] each of thm wanted to get hold of the mike, n irrespective of the party thy belonged to thy all sang the same song, only the tune seemed different! :)) everyone of thm shared an appetite for cocktails and food that the ordinary man would probably eat once in 3 months [ no wonder thy run such long health bills ;p] thy all seem to compete with ech other to walk in late, and thy definitely dont understand the concept of switching off thr phones especially whn it rings whn thy r on the dias...by this, am not saying I despise the netas, lik all professions, thy also hav a few "traits of the trade" if u look at us HR professionals, v start luking at ppl around as job descriptions, CTCs, competencies, career path etc..its lik an occupational hazard!
N i continue to write n type away despite having returnd last nite only by 1.30pm n being in a Times job fair the whole day n returning only a few minutes ago, n having to attend the fair again tomorrow :) am not compelled to write nor to attend this fair, but it is tat restlessness in me to keep doing watever i can tat makes me do it! At this fair, I had to arrive at CTCs and give away offers explaining the various components of the salary stack..Its a learning in itself, the behavioral patterns that emerge when expectations are not met, the acceptance n happiness that comes in when u hav waited for tat 1 offer thru the day or the arrrogance tat xists wch speaks louder thn words n says, this is my 8th offer letter today n i lik collecting thm.these may b som of the responses of candidates n i may find som more to add to my list as days go by!
making offers is not part of my role,bt i njoi dng it as i do it once in awhile... i deal more with xcel sheets, macros n tools, hav arrived at accessing vendors n categorising them, will b part of a six sigma initiative n may get a green belt by 6 months, attend sessions lik 'sales closure' n negotiation tactice with project manager, its interesting and continous learning :)
n in this xciting wrk life of mine, i hav to pay my rgrd to those 3 wheeled vehicles wch i hav grown dependent on...so mch so, I am planning to buy one auto, makes business sense, I dont hav to drive, nor worry abt parking, I ask the driver to pick n drop me whnevr I want n the rest of the time he earns his livelihood n only pays the rent of the auto to me, making moolah n maintaing comfort too :) hwr havnt found ny VCs to launch this B plan of mine!
but, I must say I learn frm the autowallah, the greed in thr eyes whn i tell thm som far off location...thy will try to giv me a bangalore darshan!
or the ones who hav sch a bored n dul xpression tat I giv thm one shocking 100 watt smile n thank thm:)
or the ones who hav to speed thru n beat every red signal, n thy jst result in those bad hair days of mine!
n finally the champion of all, this man called abdullah who waits for me most days to end the last ride of his shift wch he claims is one of his confirmed sou notewallah ride, he can talk n talks in abt 8 languages [mostly in English cos he says aap to corporate hain memsaab, n I reply in kannada n hes amused n i say am a member of 'kannada premigala sangha']..n our first conversation was 'u knw hw the MindTree stock is performing?'... n he gav me an update of its performance for the whole month, n hw he picks n chooses his stocks...I sometimes feel lik tellng my dad tat ull loose ur job if more n more autowallahs were as gud as abdullah...
pplz hav 2 mak a confession, hav bcom xtremely concious of my weight, hog on to 2 mch junk food coz i cant silence those mice in the stomach n end up feeding 4 thm to put thm 2 sleep...though, I try to walk every morn its not making mch of a difference, henceforth, all of u when evr u pray, consider this friends plight n pray for the scales to b uniform on her!
well! wot is the spanish connection u may ask?

Ppl I graduated finally, with robes n green capes, we all looked like v were auditioning for an Indian version of Harry Potter than as grads completing 2 yrs of B-school education J…as v enter the corporate world, v realize tat those few alphabets nxt to our names give us some power but also the need to unlearn many of our books gyan is also hitting hard…
The d-day last Saturday, was quite an xperience, with us having rehearsals of the parade, the audi filling up with parents, n me taking the girls out to lunch at desmonds, the high point was receiving the degree in a not so sober state :p… however, it was also emotionally taxing, as none frm family came to attend, and a near one departed on the same day, though, I had hardly any interaction with the person in question, my mother seems to b still recovering frm the shock n pain…
This whole week makes me feel like I have been married to my work, as I see more n more possibilities to do things, drawing up project plans and trying to do all tat I can has kept me away from home[ am contemplating staying on my own, though, parents want me to atleast show my face as thy have missed me enuf the past few yrs] frm Thursday onwards, I have been entrusted the role of vendor empanelment n management, ill have to track consultants n classify them n study their performance, v r closely working with abt 84 of thm so thrs a humongous amount of data to interpret n loads of meetings to schedule soon :-D
wrk also includes travelling to attend weeknd recruitment drives, this weekend missed gng to Chennai as I had to attend trainin to use a tool called Hirecraft, it's a complex tool wch simplifies the whole process…I find it v interesting n am looking at making the most out of it.. There's a 'moms day out' in office, wch is crèche facility for little children, I spend som time thr in the evenings, sometimes friends send me snippets frm different articles n I realize I miss reading the papers with the regularity tat I used to… I continue to carry my obsession with food n hav discovered eating joints in n around office, la casa, casabalanca, nakshatra n banjara r som places around the banshankari office wch I wud recommend to grab som good food n nice music…aparna who stays close by has been visiting almost every alternate day, havin lunch at her place wch is like a stones throw away, is fun as v try out weird recipes…these small interludes help me stay in touch n also remind me of the wonderful hostel days..
Apart frm wrk, lifes bcom a routine…I wake up by 5 AM, off for a walk for almost n hr, listenin to som amazing classical music on radio indigo, n the vishnusahasranama on 92.4 FM, get bck hom n prepare brkfast, n leave to office by 9 ish, day ends around 9 n am bck for dinner n prison brk… heroes has completed 20 episodes nw n I wish tat the day wudnt b far when genetic engineering wud b able to modify our capabilities..whenevr each episode unfolds I am also reminded of the movie 'Gattaca', its scary sometimes to think of science going wrong n impacting human life…I was happy to read Stephen Hawking's feat of staying under zero gravity these r the men of science who defy normal peoples perceptions n help us explore possibilities…
As I get into this mold of wrk, I have come to notice tat thr is a shift in focus, time has bcom v valuable, ppl also r gaining in importance, the distance tats increasing btn som of us has made me realize hw important u r to me, nikki, vani, miss talking to u everyday…but, I also realize tat by writing abt my regular routine I am in a way keeping u posted abt the v nature n simplicity tat life unfolds, nw my letters seem more personal n at times boring as theres nothing new in thm, however, its also a testament to wot v aspire for, in writing v put thoughts 2 gethr, n aspire to reach those thoughts to bcom actions n reality, its bt an exercise of contemplation, of recognizing the duality tat exists, but also knwing tat the degree of duality is slowly evolving towards a singularity a gradual flow of evolution….i want u all 2 read this b'ful thought of gibran, my fav poet...
'Speak to us of self knowledge', he said,
And he answered, saying:
Your hearts know in silence the secrets of the days and the nights.
But your ears thirst for the sound of your heart's knowledge.
You would know in words that which you have always known in thought.
You would touch with your naked hands the body of your dreams.
And it is well you should.
The hidden well spring of your soul must needs rise and run murmuring to the sea;
And the treasure of your infinite depths would be revealed to your eyes.
But let there be no scales to weigh your unknown treasure;
And seek not the depths of your knowledge with staff or sounding line.
For self is a sea boundless and measureless.
Say not, "I have found the truth", but rather, "I have found a truth"
Say not " I have found the path of the soul", but rather, "I have met the soul walking upon my path".
For the soul walks upon all paths.
The soul walks not upon a line, neither does it grow like a reed.
The soul unfolds itself, like a lotus of countless petals.

Salaam-e-ishq (1/5/2007)
Salaame ishq disappointed my expectations, though I thoroughly enjoyed ' Love actually'. Hugh Grant looks as delectable as ever in ' Music and lyrics'…well! Y am I talking abt these movies nw, whn most of my mails r usually in real time ;)
Movies make love stories of a specific kind seem like a breeze, thy always hav happy endings :)… I want to share with u few stories of real people in luv, as the subject fascinates me. These are stories I heard at a recent engagement of one of my colleagues n I am happy to share it with all of u : )
Story no 1: this is my team mate, born to a v popular singer in the Kannada film industry, this only daughter found love in a budding TV actor and got married to him, against her parents wishes. Her parents made statements against her in the media, her husband had to face the wrath of local goons and they had to spend almost two years under the charity of her friends. She completed her MBA, got into McAffee, Infosys and now is an integral part of MindTree and her husband nw features in popular serials and does music shows all across the globe…she lives a life which is not as luxurious as compared to her upbringing, but she has no regrets, her down to earth demeanour, and her commitment to work and life itself inspires me!!!
Story No 2: If u speak to him, u wud rate him as a natural salesman, however, he is in the business of people, my boss n mentor, from Madhya Pradesh, went to Mumbai to pursue n MBA, but, instead found the luv of his life wch changed the course of his lifeJ he didn't finish his MBA but instead married the woman whose father was politically connected and shiv sainiks chased him outta Maharashtra…theres a smile sealed on his lips… even if he has to catch a flight, in the nth hr,he wud close an offer n leave, theres no problem tat doesn't have a solution for this cheerful effervescent person.
Story no 3: he speaks Tamil and she Kannada, their families are poles apart, but, their daughter of 3 yrs brought them all 2gether, as she manages to mix both Tamil and kannada together, thy are people who speak to me of potential career options lik tat of a location consultant, technical writer etc…they are people who blive in the future but r grounded to their customs n thy r committed to a world of happiness…
Story no 4: heres a gal who is in lov with a man, she hasn't confessed her feelings to…she doesn't talk to him everyday, nor does she sms or use ny of the modern tools…she keeps track of every progress / hindrance in her man's life… every waking morn she dreams of him, prays for him and even fasts fr him [ abstinence frm food by her is a grt sacrifice as she is a woman who luvs food] ..but, the world around her is not blind to her luv, her classmates voted her n the guy as one of the possible couples to walk down the aisle in one of the surveys done in college…but, shudnt this luv story wch hinges on hope n happiness also end in a story like the previous 3, I pray tat the 2 com together :)
Hmmm…nw som bit on my life in the past week, I am learning the sign language, like the morse code wch I learnt as a guide, I want to understand my ability to communicate through expressions… At office, I am finding people who will add on to u all, as people who are shaping me, the advantage of being in a growing co is the freedom one gets to experiment and explore. I am closely working with the IS team, and the SAP team... learning some on project management.
I attended a session by Subroto n his words made a lot of sense… he was talking abt oratory n somhw felt tat its not oratory tat is relevant 2day, but communication.he didn't not giv fancy anecdotes, but gave a few pointers on hw to communicate. He said he wanted to b rememberd as a thinker n not as a speaker [well! Don't v all wish 2 b remeberd somday] I liked wot he said, n wished tat somday, I will hav the wisdom to b as humble as him, he said one line wchs been at the bck of mind ' don't overemphasise reverence' if v hav to bcom a nation of the future it is definitely reqrd to push ourselves more than a 100% n stop waitin to b told to do things, our emphasis on positions, levels, status, heirarchys stifles many an idea even b4 its born!
Speaking of which, I should tell u abt this second cousin of mine called 'gundu' whose name is kushal. Hes studying in the 4th standard, n he luvs tinkering his cycle. He wanted his cycle to have a silencer just like in the bikes, he went to a local mechanic found an iron pipe and asked the mechanic to soulder the pipe to the body of his cycle. Every evening he puts some 'samrani' don't knw the English translation, it's a kinda ash which whn burnt will smell nice n red embers sparkle… this kid rides his bike with the ash burning in his self made silencer, n is happy to see people around him look at his bike with amusement…ideas r born everyday, n no matter hw small thy r… let us n our children make thm a reality!!!
The weekend saw me catching up with mars, we worked on the yearbook, n it awaits a release on our graduation day, 5th of may is whn I will receive my degree:)... I miss the wifi in college, as at work, ill hav quite som time to write but no access to personal mail n ppl am hooked on to the television series 'prison break' i watch it whenever i am free, the series is one of the cleverest i have seen in my life, n the best bit abt the series is its whole purpose is to save a brother, the human aspect of it sometimes brings tears in my eyes…n am following the cocktail kings as mch as possible, thy dished out an ossom apple n pear cocktail, wish i cud try making it, somtimes, i visualise recipes, food n drink in my mind, it keeps me occupied everytime theres a traffic block...traffic signals definitely hav their own story to tell, the movie too was ossom, n guys do watch blades of glory, it simply rocks!!
Take care n let the spirit of luv, hope, happiness n ideas engulf u :-)
